Today we officially kicked off the 2026–2027 school year, and our hearts are full! From the moment our doors opened, our campus was filled with smiling faces, warm greetings, excited scholars, and supportive families ready for an amazing year of learning and growth. It was a joy to welcome our scholars back and watch them begin a new chapter filled with endless possibilities. Thank you to our incredible parents for trusting us with your children, and to our outstanding faculty and staff for making the first day so welcoming, organized, and full of positivity.

The countdown is almost over, and we can’t wait to welcome our Panda families back home! Join us today from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM for our Open House and get ready for an amazing school year.

✨ Come meet your child’s teacher, connect with the outstanding faculty and staff who will be supporting your scholar, explore the school, and get all the information you need for a successful start to the year. This is a wonderful opportunity to ask questions, build relationships, and help your child feel excited and prepared for the first day of school.

Join us for Open House on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Pecan Park Elementary School.

This morning, we officially kicked off the 2026–2027 school year at the Jackson Public Schools Convocation Ceremony! It was an exciting and inspiring way to welcome the entire JPS family back for another year of learning, growth, and excellence. This year’s theme, “Rolling With My JPS Krewe,” Mardi Gras style, brought incredible energy, school spirit, and celebration as educators, staff, and administrators came together with one shared purpose—to make this school year the best one yet for every scholar we serve. We also want to give a very special shout-out to our Pecan Park Elementary scholar, Ariany Vasquez Alvarado, for doing an outstanding job reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in Spanish. Your confidence and poise made us all proud! We also want to recognize our amazing Assistant Principal, Mr. Phillips, for his incredible performance of “Let the Good Times Roll.” He had the crowd energized and reminded us that this school year is one to celebrate as we roll into a new year filled with opportunities and success! Here’s to new beginnings, meaningful connections, unforgettable moments, and a year filled with excellence. We are ready to roll into the 2026–2027 school year with pride, passion, purpose, and plenty of Panda spirit!

Our amazing staff, families, and community partners joined forces for 2026-2027 JPS Beautification Day to get our campus ready for a fantastic school year. From refreshing spaces to prepping classrooms, every effort made a difference!

Happy Tuesday, July 14, 2026! We are officially 14 days away from the first day of school, and excitement is building at Pecan Park Elementary! As we prepare to welcome our scholars back to campus, let’s continue to enjoy these final days of summer by creating beautiful memories with family and friends.

Take time to laugh, explore, and cherish every moment together as we get ready for an amazing school year filled with learning, growth, and success.

🎮 Don’t forget! Jackson Public Schools is hosting Game Night at the Raines Administrative Complex. Come out and enjoy the fun, pick up summer reading materials, and register your scholars for the new school year!

🚌 Reminder: All bus riders must be registered by July 15th. Families who register after July 15th may experience transportation delays, so please complete your registration as soon as possible.
