Calm-Calm and Calm

If I had one word to describe what I enter each day with, it would definitely be the word CALM

No matter what comes my way-No matter how the day unfolds…It’s all about remaining calm, showing calmness, and ensuring others remain calm

And trust me-As an AP the day can go a variety of ways😂

But remaining calm throughout whatever the day may bring is essential to making sure decisions get made, staff get supported, and everything functions smoothly

It’s not easy-But for me it’s important to make sure that I keep it at the center of everything I do-as difficult as it may be on certain days, it is essential to who I am and what I do to ensure that full support can be given on a daily basis❤️

One of my favorite things to do is to have students dive into the rich history of holidays, celebrations, and cultural months!

With Labor Day, just around the corner, this is a perfect opportunity for your students to learn about the history of Labor Day!

Everyone loves a handwritten note

There’s just something about getting a card from somebody that’s handwritten

It shows that somebody really cares, somebody really wanted to make a connection, and communicate something

One of my favorite things to do is to not only make it around to every classroom… But to see all of the amazing work that teachers are doing

And to share with them how much they are appreciated and how amazing their work is… I love handwriting, thank you cards and leaving them in teacher

I usually include fun, teacher, stickers, or snacks just to say how much they are seen, Hurd, and appreciated❤️

Have you ever been in. Reading slump and then found a book that you LOVED that brought you out of it?

This translation of The Odyssey did that for me!

This book was more than just Odysseus trying to get home after the Trojan War

It was who he became trying to get back home

The life journey he take and the person he became once he got back to Ithaca really transformed this book in ways I wasn’t expecting

I never read this book in high school, and am so glad I added it to my TBR in anticipation of seeing the movie

It has now sent me down a Greek Mythology reading adventure-Yes, I do have the Iliad on my TBR stack, but since I just read this book, I’m giving into this side of the Trojan WR before I go back in time

I just started reading Circe by Madeline Miller-Author of Song of Achilles. Her story is brief in The Odyssey, but fascinating!

I would LOVE some Greek Mythology retell suggestions-Please drop them down below!👇🏼
