May's Faculty Spotlight (photo 1) is Josh Russell! He is known for taking time to help students when they need it both inside and out of the classroom. Fun Fact: He loves to teach origami to students and gives away the origami he creates to faculty, staff, and students; making them feel appreciated.

May's Staff Spotlight (photo 2) is JB Simmons! JB is truly the heart of JSCC. She is the steady presence and often referred to as the “campus mom." While she certainly makes sure the Jackson State team is all taken care of in the practical sense each month, it’s her unwavering encouragement, genuine care, and those unforgettable hugs that leave the greatest impact. She exemplifies everything the CARE Team stands for and she models the very spirit our JSCC community strives to embody each day. Her loyalty, warmth, and servant-hearted leadership make her not just an invaluable colleague, but a cornerstone of the JSCC family.

This Memorial Day weekend, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who sacrificed for our country. We are grateful for their courage, service, and dedication.
