The JTHS Marching Band went out to their first competition this past weekend and earned a 1st Place victory with special awards for Best Overall Effect and Best Visual. There were a total of 12 performing bands and 5 of them were in our group size, meaning they had a similar number of students performing.

As always, our students once again made us proud as they helped our community honor the lives lost on September 11. Jackson’s AFJROTC cadets and JTHS choral student Ava Donegan participated in the 9/11 Memorial Service at Westlake Village. Through their service and music, they helped make this solemn remembrance especially meaningful. We are grateful for the care and respect they brought to the occasion.

Meanwhile, inside our schools, students in our district participated in projects and age-appropriate discussions to honor the day.

Middle School and High School Families:

At some point this week between Sept. 14 and Sept. 18, your student has taken or will take benchmark assessments, which are given at different times of the year so we can measure where students are starting academically, and how they are progressing.

Congratulations to JTHS Students (who are all STEM Academy students) Vansh Joshi, Sadie Hersh and Swayum Mehta, who have been named National Merit Scholarship Program Commended Students!

This prestigious national distinction places them among the top 2% of the approximately 1.3 million students who entered the competition, which is an extraordinary accomplishment that reflects their exceptional academic ability, dedication and hard work.

As we prepare to welcome students back next week, we’re asking families to partner with us by talking with their children about the new NJ law requiring districts to implement a bell-to-bell restriction on student use of internet-enabled devices like cell phones and smartwatches. In accordance with this state requirement, Jackson Township School District’s new policy takes effect for the 2026–2027 school year.

We know adjusting to a new rules and routines takes time, and your support makes a difference. Reviewing the expectations together before school begins will help students feel prepared and ready to focus on learning, connecting with classmates and making the most of their school day.

Income eligibility limits have changed, and many more families may now qualify for FREE school breakfast and lunch through New Jersey Expanded Income Eligibility!

Even if your family did not qualify in the past, we strongly encourage you to apply this year. A new application must be completed every school year, so please do not delay.

Applications may be completed online or submitted using a paper form. Visit the Food Service Page on the district website for eligibility information and application instructions.

🏆 TOP 18 IN THE NATION!
We are incredibly proud to celebrate four Jackson Township High School students who took their talents all the way to the Technology Student Association (TSA) National Conference, and came home as National Semifinalists!

Congratulations to Joseph Orecchio, Deven Stab, Raymond Panariello, and Aditi Gupta, members of our STEM Academy and JTHS TSA organization. After earning an impressive 2nd Place in New Jersey at the TSA State Conference in May, the team qualified for the national competition in National Harbor, Maryland. There, they competed against more than 60 robotics teams from across the country.

Their challenge? Design, build and program a working robot capable of navigating a course while picking up and delivering objects — and then present their work during an interview with a panel of judges.

The result: TOP 18 IN THE NATION! 🇺🇸

That achievement represents countless hours of designing, building, programming, testing, problem-solving and teamwork. And these Jaguars aren't finished yet, they're already looking ahead to next year's competition!

A special thank you to TSA advisor Michelle Roach for supporting and guiding our students, as well as their teachers, counselors and administrators who helped make their state and national competition experiences possible.

👏 Congratulations, Joey, Deven, Ray and Aditi! You represented Jackson with talent, determination and plenty of Jaguar Pride! ❤️🖤🤖
