Dear CVA,

Firstly I'd like to introduce myself as CVA's new president for the 2023-2024 academic year. My name is Kathy, and I'm currently a rising senior studying biological engineering. My parents immigrated here in the late 90s with almost nothing to their name. They were quickly welcomed by a Viet community in the suburbs of NJ who provided them with a place to stay and even helped train them for better jobs. This sense of comaraderie established by common culture and experiences is something I hope to encourage within CVA. At Cornell, being far away from home means it's more important than ever to continue to hold on to and develop the roots of your identity. Of course, this wouldn't be possible in CVA without an e-board who is driven to do the same.

Our organization needs new officers for the upcoming 2023-2024 academic year, namely a Treasurer, Social Relations Chair, and a Cultural Chair. CVA officers will be responsible for attending weekly e-board meetings, volunteering to represent CVA at different campus events, and other duties outlined in the form below. If you believe there is a position missing from this list that you would be a good fit for, feel free to elaborate in the form.

For those interested in applying, please fill out this form by 11:59 PM on Friday, August 11th.

I hope you have a great rest of your summer -- be on the lookout for the first CVA event of the semester (TBD)!

Sincerely,
Kathy Le
CVA President
