Spectrum is an Ithaca College student organization that stands for and includes the entire "spectrum" of s*xual orientations and gender identities. Be you pans*xual, bis*xual, trans, fluid, as*xual, le***an, gay, questioning, straight, non-identifying, two spirited, q***r, etc., we welcome you and encourage you to come to our meetings Tuesdays at 8:00pm in Job 160, which is when Spectrum will convene weekly, free and open to any person(s). We practice a "Safe Space" policy that emphasizes acceptance and respect.During our meetings, we have group discussions that the group has brainstormed and decided to discuss, such as LGBT representation in the media, sharing stories on how to start a same s*x relationship, sharing our coming-out stories, and generally bonding with one another. We also have gone out to dinner together, we watch documentaries, do "bis*xual buddy" gift exchange (essentially, a q***r-themed Secret Santa), have pizza parties, make rainbow crafts, and more. Most importantly, we are a support system for q***r students and we are there for each other!
