This past weekend was the 2017 Ithaca College Game Jam! We had a lot of fun, ate some really great food, learned a lot of new things, and made some pretty cool games!
We'll be highlighting the games that were made throughout the week, so keep your eyes peeled!
We'd like to give a big thank you to OSEMA for helping us provide food for our participants, and to our advisor, Nate, for giving us your full support (and for taking time out of your busy schedule to hangout with us for a weekend).
Hosted by ICGDC and ICWC from January 27th-29th. The theme was "Human"!

Day one of our game jam is almost over! Our theme was revealed to be "Human" and our groups are hard at work!
Hello, everyone! Hope you're all having nice breaks and getting ready for the semester in a couple weeks!
We will be hosting a Game Jam the weekend that the semester starts (Jan. 26-29) and it's a great way to spend some time with friends and hone your development skills!
The Game Jam is a weekend long event that will take place in Williams 309. We're modeling it after the Global Game Jam, which takes place exactly a week before. The idea is that everyone gets a theme or a prompt and must use that weekend and that weekend ONLY to create a functional game, be it tabletop or electronic. This means you have those few days to get into teams (or work solo), develop an idea, and fully implement it. It's extremely challenging, but a great addition to any resume or portfolio and a great way to flex your creative and technical skills!
No game development experience is required, only enthusiasm is necessary to participate. Hope to see you all there!
If you have any questions regarding the event, feel free to comment them here.

It's a little bit more than a month until classes start- so we thought it'd be fun to take a look at some of the awesome things our members have done in the past year!
This past January over 15 IC students got together for the annual 48 Global Game Jam. Our groups put together THREE different games that put a unique spin on this year's theme, "Ritual". You can find all of the the games here: http://globalgamejam.org/2016/jam-sites/ithaca-college/games
Special shoutout to our Ithaca College Women in Computing, who held the event with us! We had a great time and look forward to working with you ladies in the future! Another special shoutout goes to our advisor, Nate Prestopnik, who took time out of his weekend to support a bunch of caffeinated college students in making games.
Last week of the year--things are winding down quickly. One more event--come visit us at Ithacon this Saturday, May 2nd! We'll be tabling for most of the morning into the afternoon!
We're hosting a video game arcade night at Williams 309 at 7pm! Come check it out!
Thanks for visiting us at our booth this weekend at Ithaca Today! Such a great turnout!
