We can still hear the applause from the Izzy Award ceremony last month! Congratulations to Abby Martin, The City, and The Texas Observer for such dedicated and cause-focused work. And thank you to all our judges, supporters, and attendees for lifting up independent media — for new and storied audiences alike!

Directors from then to now!

Jeff Cohen from FAIR was the first director of PCIM, founded in 2008. He served until 2018, when Raza Ahmad Rumi took over. In 2024, Mickey Huff from the media watchdog Project Censored became the head of PCIM, which has now taught and served generations of indy media professionals.
