We will celebrate Read Across America Week, next week. Each day we will have dress up days related to our theme for the week, "Reading is for Everyone!". We can wait to celebrate literacy with our Stipes Stallions.

Irving ISD realizes many families have been and some are still without power and electricity, and that is why school has been cancelled. Therefore, do NOT worry about grades and assignments this week. While the gradebook shows grades are due this Friday, this date was set PRIOR to the snow and ice storm. Once we return next week, we will communicate new due dates. The only thing Irving ISD wants families and students to do right now is to stay safe and warm.

Irving ISD campuses and district offices will be closed on Tuesday, February 16. Due to ongoing demands on the power grid and rolling power outages, virtual learning is canceled for all students and teachers for Tuesday, February 16.

Irving ISD campuses will not reopen for in-person learning until weather and road conditions significantly improve. Based on our understanding of TEA regulations we must make a day-to-day determination regarding school closings. You will be notified each day no later than 5 PM, or as early as possible, regarding the plan for the following day.

Thank you for your patience as we make these daily decisions regarding school closings and virtual instruction. We want our families, students and staff to know that while we would like to avoid adding days to the calendar at this time, we do not know how this week’s missed instruction will impact our school calendar and make-up days.
