What an amazing and unforgettable experience we've had at this year's VV Annual Program! We are filled with gratitude and appreciation for everyone who played a role in making this event such a success.

To our talented students: your passion, energy, and hard work made every moment of the program shine. You truly brought the event to life, and we couldn't be prouder of you!

To our dedicated teachers and TAs: thank you for your tireless efforts in guiding and inspiring our students. Your support, both in and out of the classroom, helped make this event a huge success.

To our wonderful volunteers: your time, enthusiasm, and hard work behind the scenes were invaluable. You helped everything run smoothly, and we are so grateful for your contributions!

Namaste DFW Metroplex,

It is that time of the year to light up a lamp, celebrate Diwali, and experience the yearly joy of lord Ram’s return from exile. Diwali does not signify the victory of a king over another. Instead, it signifies a victory of light over darkness and joy over sorrow. Diwali is not limited to India. In many Western countries, it is a recognized holiday.

Vidya Vikas has been celebrating Diwali with students for more than a decade. This celebration includes rangoli, diya painting, jeopardy, etc.

Fun fact: Diwali is also celebrated in other belief systems that were derived from Sanatan Sanskriti.

Whatever is your reason for celebrating, we wish you five days of happy and safe festivity. If you follow the Vikram Calendar (popular in Gujarati culture), we wish you a new year along with Diwali.

What a day it is that for over thousands of years, it sparks same joy and happiness of victory of Ram over Ravaan; or, good over evil, truth over falsehood, and liberation over oppression! On this auspicious day, we wish and pray that we all be blessed with Shri Ram’s vigor, valor, and versatility in our individual life quests.

Ram-Lilas are being performed all over the world to learn from Shri Ram’s life. Vidya Vikas School (VVS) students have been performing Ram Lila for last 20 years. In this string of continuation, VVS students proudly presents Ram Lila 2024. The ladies and youth dance class group will bring the musical elements into the play.

These performances will be followed by Ravaan Dahan. The ten heads for the effigy of Ravan are created by school students. Don’t miss the Ravan Dahan!

We also want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Mayor of Irving Honorable Mayor Rick Stopfer and his wife Mrs. Melanie Stopfer for their presence and active participation in the event.

Mr. Mayor’s presence exemplified the Indian philosophy of वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम् (the Earth is one family), and United Sates’ motto of E Pluribus Unum.

The autumnal equinox has passed, and we are heading into the cooler time of the year. Would you like to feel the endorphin rush on a September morning typically filled with a golden hue? If there is a wellness event, would you consider it? Or would you like to meet the Mayor of Irving, or even discuss health with the wellness experts?

DFW Hindu Temple (Ekta Mandir) is organizing an annual picnic with a 5K walkathon showcasing wellness booths hosted by healthcare professionals, instructors leading yoga sessions, picnic games, karaoke, and much more! This event will cater to everyone ranging from kids to matriarchs and patriarchs, and everyone in between.

So, please join us with your friends and family, at 9:30 AM on September 29, 2024, at Running Bear Park (2601 Story Road, Irving, Texas 75060) and take a step (or more) to enhance personal and community health.

It is yet another eventful weekend at DFW Ekta Mandir. Renowned author, scholar, commentator, and visionary Ami Ganatra is in town to share her blissful insight on the Sanatan Sanskriti and make a case why we should study Ramayana and Mahabharat in this time and age. This for adults at 10:00 am.

She will also conduct a workshop on Youth leadership, based on lessons learned from Ramayana and Mahabharat. For ages 12-25, at 1:00 pm this Sunday.

Vidya Vikas will hold their open house for the parents, where you will have meet and greet opportunity to your language, art, and dharma teachers at 11:00 am. This event will facilitate a dialogue between you and your teachers.
