This special great teacher nomination comes straight from a student—and it’s easy to see why Mr. Yarbrough has made such a lasting impact. 🍏
Though he’s been teaching for just four years, Mr. Yarbrough brings a lifetime of service and dedication to his classroom. A former Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy, his commitment to caring for others is evident in everything he does.
From greeting students at the door with a smile, fist bump, or creative handshake, to making challenging subjects like Biology and Chemistry Research engaging and meaningful, he creates an environment where students feel motivated and supported. His approach goes beyond content—helping students build critical thinking and literacy skills that will serve them far beyond the classroom.
What truly sets Mr. Yarbrough apart is his genuine care for his students. Whether he’s showing school spirit as the mascot, playing in student-staff games, or offering extra help, he is always present and invested. Students know they can count on him—not just for academic support, but for encouragement and understanding.
Even after students leave his class, he continues to check in, showing that his impact doesn’t end when the semester does.
Mr. Yarbrough is the kind of teacher who changes how students feel about school—and that kind of influence lasts a lifetime.
