Shoutout to Aarij, one of our long term ALUM mentors! This summer, Aarij has been volunteering in the Emergency Room🏥👨‍⚕️. Keep reading to hear about some of his awesome patient interactions, and if you’re interested in getting clinical experience don’t hesitate to reach out!🤩🥳
“One memorable moment was when I got to observe a suture on a 5 year old boy. The part that meant a lot to me was talking to him before his procedure and asking him how he got the injury and letting him know that everything would be okay. I got to talk to him about his favorite movies and games in order to help him relax and not be feel as nervous. I have learned a lot about how unpredictable medicine can be and that you always have to be prepared for any situation with the patients.”
