I’m grateful that I had the chance to reconnect and revisit old memories with many of my classmates at our 50th reunion. It makes the loss of fellow classmate Jim Lewer feel even more poignant. When I learned this past summer that Jim wanted to speak at the reunion, I gave him a call and had a nice conversation with him. I told him how much I appreciated his sense of humor and jovial spirit. My fondest memories of Jim were spending several winters going snowmobiling with him , Holden Welch, and other classmates. I also enjoyed his clever narrative at our 35th class reunion as we cruised up and down the Iowa River on the Scenic City Empress.

May we remember the good times shared with Jim. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

The class of 1975 was deeply saddened and shocked to hear the news of Jim Lewer’s passing.

Carl Nolan got a call from Don White that Jim Lewer passed away last night😢. He has had some heart issues over the years and apparently wasn’t feeling very well. He went to sit out on his patio at home and just never woke up. Carl has talked to Jack Lewer and he will be buried in Maine. Prayers to the family🙏🙏.

Anne Nolan will update us with any new info when she gets it. Another reminder that we have no idea of Gods plan. Love to you all💕

Our thoughts are with Jim’s family and with all of us who shared special times with Jim as a wonderful classmate.

May we remember Jim and our other classmates with appreciation and keep their memory alive in the stories we share.

Seeing everyone together again after 50 years reminds us how special those shared years were.

Congratulations to Paul Hackbarth for being the “S.O.A.T” (Smartest of all Time.) Paul was the overall winner of the trivia contest, MC’d by Jolaine Mann Sweiger. Paul’s knowledge about the history of Iowa Falls and all things happening in the year 1975 was totally amazing. Kudos go out to Paul and the other “smart kids” at his table: Paul Wood, Vicky Harty Beer and Scott and Diane Lange Hamilton. Great job all! Your knowledge without the help of Google or Alexa was amazing!

I’ve really enjoyed watching the Olympics this year, especially some of the new events that they added. The athletes are so talented and skilled in their area of expertise. I think the E-bike competition was most enjoyable. Now that’s an event I might start training for.

FYI We’ve had requests to do another 70’s School Reunion. Great time seeing other schoolmates. So please Save the Date for Iowa Falls Homecoming night, October 4, 2024. It will be held again at the 503. More details will follow.
