🌿 Breathe & Bloom 🌿 - We had such a great two days last week: moving, creating, exploring, and connecting with each other and the downtown Iowa City community.

Thanks to our downtown friends Hothouse Yoga, Kitty Corner Social Club and Yotopia for helping make this camp so special. Our campers painted and distributed kindness rocks around downtown, spreading plenty of joy wherever they went. 💛

Friday mood: jumpin’ cause Breathe & Bloom Camp starts MONDAY! 🌿✨

We’re excited for some yoga with Hothouse Yoga, downtown nature adventures and exploration, and of course a visit to downtowns coolest zen den Kitty Corner Social Club

Science matters. So In the interest of scientific accuracy, we felt it was necessary to conduct yet another quality control inspection our friends at Kitty Corner Social Club . 🐈🔬

You know… just to make sure our first several visits weren’t a fluke.

After extensive testing (petting cats, playing with kittens, and testing reflexes and jumping abilities), we’re happy to report our findings:

✅ Still fun.
✅ Still impossible to leave.
✅ Still one of our favorite downtown stops.

That’s why we’re excited to be heading back during Breathe & Bloom Camp in just a few weeks! Along with yoga, greenspaces, mindfulness, friendship, and plenty of GoldCap adventures, we’ll be making another “official inspection” of our feline friends.

Nothing beats a summer evening in downtown Iowa City. ☀️

We had a blast at the kids’ activities at the Downtown Block Party! Was great to see so many familiar faces from our GoldCap fam and enjoy the amazing businesses and organizations that make downtown such a special place.

A huge thank you to the Iowa City Downtown District for putting together another fantastic community event. We’re grateful to be part of a downtown that values families, local businesses, and creating memorable experiences for kids.

We can’t wait for more adventures together this summer!

❤️ 🎶 “Love, we need it now.” 🎶 ❤️

We had an awesome time at Friday’s camp and are feeling very grateful for another chance to spend time exploring the enduring warmth, charm, and beauty of the downtown Iowa City community and those that are part of it. ☺️

Kids exploring downtown, laughing in the parks, hunting ducks, solving clues, sharing pizza, waving at familiar faces — being together in a place we care about.

Especially this week, we’re thankful for the people and small businesses that make this place feel welcoming, creative, and connected.

In one way or another at our camp on Friday we visited our friends at .museums - and were just as grateful to be racing by our other friends who open their doors to our campers for special times throughout the year: 🥰

💛 We’re proud to be raising kids in community. Thankful to spend our days in the downtown community. And grateful to be part of what makes it special. 💛

We’re excited for our last no-school camp of the year and a big day of Downtown Discovery!

On deck: our Amazing Iowa City Race, a bus ride adventure to the park, and a experience to top it all off. It’s a full-send Friday!

We’re baaaaaack! 👋

It’s been a busy stretch behind the scenes at GoldCap, and we’re excited to start sharing what’s coming up this spring.

With two no-school days coming up in April, we’re bringing back our popular Downtown Discovery camps — and if last time was any indication, spots won’t last long.

These camps turn a day off school into a downtown adventure — kids exploring Iowa City, visiting local spots, tackling creative challenges, and spending the day learning alongside friends and real teachers who love what they do.

It’s one of our favorite ways to bring kids together and connect them with the community around them.

April 3rd and 24th No-School Camps are now open for registration. Limited spots - These sold out quick last year!
