Why aKDPhi: I was a transfer student for the Spring 2026 semester and I was familiar with aKDPhi before attending here. I saw this organization as an opportunity for me to put myself out there and to have amazing people around me to relate to. Throughout the whole process, I have learned about my capabilities and how I can provide for the community around me. With great guidance and support from my sisters around me this will give me the perfect opportunity to grow as a woman and discover myself in ways I wouldn’t have thought of before!!

Why aKDPhi: I came from a small town with a very low Asian population, so I always wanted to find a group of people who I could connect with on a cultural level! I was so lucky to find aKDPhi because it has given me a chance to meet so many siblings who share this same sentiment and are unapologetically proud of and true to their culture. There is something so special about meeting people who are like-minded in this way, and I feel like I’ve made very meaningful connections with my siblings through aKDPhi!

The University of Iowa Alpha Sigma Chapter of alpha Kappa Delta Phi is hosting a volleyball tournament to help spread awareness for breast cancer in both men and women!

Event Details:
🗓️ When: October 7th, 2026
⏱︎ Time: 6:30 - 8:30 pm
𖡡 Where  South Gym, Field House 

REQUIREMENTS
- Teams will consist of 6-8 people 
- You can also just sign up as an individual and we will put you into a team!
- Don’t have to be a University of Iowa student, but need a valid ID to sign into Fieldhouse as well as a walk-in fee, $10 for 18 and under and $12 for 19+. 
- Please make sure that each person on your team fills out this registration form!!
- Recommended not mandatory theme: PINK or any BCA shirt to support breast cancer awareness 
- If you are just spectating, you don’t have to pay the participation fee

Registration is due by October 6th, 2026. To participate, you must pay $5 to help raise funds for BCA. The money will go to the aKDPhi Foundation, which will distribute it to a Breast Cancer Awareness Organization of their choice. Venmo: Liakim10 or pay in person at the event! 🩷🎀
