Mission statement:
The mission of The New School Mock Trial Team is to provide a space where similar minds are allowed to collaborate together. The New School Mock Trial emphasizes leadership, ethics, confidence in public speaking and create persuasive and strong arguments through a legal forum, and also explore the importance of both individuality and team-wo

rk to create a winning strategy. Vision:
The vision of The New School Mock Trial is to create a completely safe and creative environment for students to speak freely and comfortably in order to develop skills that will help future career goals. Goals:
The first goal of the New School Mock Trial Team are to join in the American Mock Trial Association and participate in the February Regionals series of their tournament at a designated location somewhere in the country. To prepare for this goal the New School Mock Trial Team will hold weekly meetings with members to practice and strengthen our abilities and our team as a whole. We hope to not only participate in competitions and place, but to build a strong community among our members. The New School Mock Trial Team want to have a "Mock Trial" performed for the student body sometime during the academic year to showcase the work don by the team and to encourage others to join and participate.

NEW SCHOOLERS,

TNS Mock Team is looking for a new captain to take charge of our ship. Being a captain would involve recruitment, scheduling/running practices, preparing and pitching budget proposals to the USS and coordinating travel to invitationals and competition. If this is something that interests you please email [email protected] with your resume and cover letter. Mock trial experience is preferred, but not necessary--a positive attitude and ability to lead is.

The New School Mock Trial Team is back BABY! Already off to a great start and searching for team members (those interested in being lawyers, acting as witnesses, or simply lending a hand where one is needed). If you'd like to learn how to analyze, interpret, and construct an oral argument via a mock criminal case, or maybe brush up on your public speaking skills, this is the organization for you! We are seeking motivated, passionate, adaptable, and curious individuals to be a part of our team--please send resumes and a brief statement of interest to [email protected]. GREAT NEWS: TNS Mock Trial team officially has its own class at Lang opening Fall 2015, titled "Justice and the American Trial Process" (CRN: 7655; MW 2-315pm, taught by Lisa Huestis). Any one interested in learning more about the American legal system and its process, as well as wishing to compete using a stimulated criminal case while following the very procedures you've been learning and mastering throughout the semester, this class is for you! Come join us!! Any questions or concerns we'll be happy to answer. HAPPY SPRING BREAK! : D
