Eye spy with my little eye a vintage R4Y water bottle at the Alaskan home of Boulware alum Toni Biskup ‘08 MD MPH. She did our virtual Covid ride allowing us to claim the 49th state and has been using the water bottle ever since. Alaska is the home of almost all of Perry’s cousins. 💙🐻💙

Srija’s research focuses on the long-term health effects of estrogen therapy on heart, kidney, liver, and metabolic health across different populations, paving the way for medical professionals to improve outcomes for patients.

📋 Research topic: Pursues treatments for newborn seizures
🗺️ Hometown: Milwaukee, WI
🎓 Future plans: To pursue a medical residency in pediatrics or pediatric neurology and work at an academic medical center

Gage’s research focuses on drug-resistant seizures in newborns, aiming to develop more effective treatments than those unchanged for nearly 50 years. With 30–50% of neonatal seizures resisting current medications—especially when diagnosis is delayed—his work focuses on the brain’s inhibitory system to explore underused drug targets and their potential impact.
