Legacy was founded by Pape Latyr Gning, CEO . Pape was born in Dakar, Senegal West Africa. He started playing soccer first as a child then, he started to grow really fast and became one of the tallest within his friends. They started making fun of him saying he is too tall for soccer and a better fit with basketball. After that he decided to work really hard and play with his older brother whom; was already a basketball player. Pape started working ,training, practicing and joining clubs not long after. Surprisingly, with a short period he became really good at it and excelled tremendously with more training. From there he got recruited by SEED Academy, which is: the biggest basketball Academy in West Africa owned by Amadou Fall. In 2006-2008 he participated in the African Cup U19, in Guinea Conakry. Pape won the champion cup 2009 in Senegal with US Rail ,for the first time. After that he participated in the BWB(Basketball Without Borders), joined the National U18 team Africa Cup in Guinea Conakry and then the U20 team Nike global challenge in Portland. In 2013 Pape had a full scholarship to come to the USA and pursue his dreams. In 2020 he participated in the BAL(Basketball Africa League) Combine in Brooklyn Nets HSS training center. From there he has been working with different states basketball teams as a coach, trainer, and educator. Pape is also a mentor and works within his community to assist in any outreach, humanity or charity events.
