🎨✨ Celebrating Excellence in Arts-Integrated Education! ✨🎨

Please join us in celebrating Alysha Parkkonen, an 8th grade ELA teacher, whose innovative arts-integrated lesson has been selected as an Exemplar Lesson for the state of South Carolina and published by the Arts in Basic Curriculum (ABC) Institute! 🎉 The instruction hub where her biography book project work will be published serves as a resource for the state by providing curriculum support, lesson plans, and resources that help educators.

This recognition highlights the power of bringing creativity and the arts into core classroom learning. Through thoughtful lesson design, Mrs. Parkkonen demonstrates how dance, music, media arts, theatre, visual arts, and creative writing can enrich students’ learning experiences and deepen their connection to academic content.

Despite the lightning delay, our 8th grade band had a great time playing alongside the CHS Marching Band Friday night at the football game! 🎶🥁🎺 What a great experience for our Cubs! 🧡💙
