It was a year ago this weekend that we met our son for the first time. I remember hating Labor Day for the first time as it meant one more day we had to wait to bring him home (per the agency). Look at us now! Thank you all for continuing to spread the word. Have a fun and fabulous weekend!

We've heard a handful or two of these since we began the adoption journey. While we know people mean well, it doesn't make them any easier to hear. Adoption isn't for the faint of heart; thankfully Neil and I are both blessed with incredible support systems!

We had a blast at the Family Reunion this past weekend. So many Cousins, Aunts and Uncles, so much love and so much fun that it wore someone out on the flight home.

I know some of you that are following our journey are hoping to adopt yourselves and as you are well aware, this journey is not for the faint of heart. After a fairly intense week, this read was a welcome respite for me tonight. I hope it brings you peace, encouragement and the knowledge that you got this!

Even Molly (our small dog) plays a role in our family. This time it's being a pillow.
This morning as we walked into swimming lessons, I heard a little guy ask his Mom, "is that his real mom"?
If I may, please teach the children in your life that Mommies, Daddies and even Sisters and Brothers come in all shapes, colors and sizes and that is part of what makes for a beautiful family. Thanks for allowing me to share; have a wonderful day!
