Please join us in congratulating our student Faith Sponseller!

They, along with Dr Masamha, attended the AACP PharmD Research Showcase and presented their project titled “Investigating Cyclin E1 (CCNE1) Expression in Mantle cell Lymphoma.”

This required oncology research and studied a rare hematological cancer. They used molecular biology techniques at the bench and sequencing data to target a specific gene. Their goal was to find potential genetic abnormalities because this lays a foundation for new therapeutic targets and biomarkers.

"Holistically, research has given me a ton of transferable skills that I will always keep in my 'pharmacist toolbox', by allowing me to think critically and explain complex concepts meaningfully. It also fills gaps in science and opens doors for patient-specific therapy."

We are proud to recognize Amber Vigil for her outstanding performance during her leadership rotation at UNC Health Southeastern.

Amber’s impact extended beyond the pharmacy team. She received a formal thank you letter from a leader outside of the pharmacy department.

In addition to excelling in her day-to-day responsibilities, Amber actively engaged in community outreach efforts, representing the pharmacy profession with enthusiasm and professionalism. Her positive attitude and strong work ethic made a lasting impression across the organization.

Amber’s achievements reflect not only her individual dedication, but also the strength and impact of Butler University’s College of Health Professions.

Join us in celebrating Amber!

Congratulations to our online P1 and P2 classes! Over the last couple weeks they travelled to campus, completed ALL of their labs for the year, and then decided to celebrate. If you're still shaking off the spring semester, just started the summer term, or are simply in the mood, dance.

Today we'd like to congratulate Dr Caleb Class on his promotion to Associate Professor. When asked about his work, they said:
"From one-on-one research meetings to large lectures, the students always brighten my day. I’m excited to use this promotion to expand my student-driven research in precision medicine for depression, play more games in class, and make more dumb YouTube videos about data visualization."

Congratulations to the 16 P1-P3 Pharmacy students, staff, and faculty who participated in our inaugural Pharmacy Trek to Boston. During a busy few days, they networked with industry professionals, visited several pharmaceutical and biotech companies, and had time to take in the local sights. This is but one of many opportunities we try to provide to give our students a leg up once they graduate.
