Today we celebrate Dr. Yvonne Stokes, Superintendent of Gary Community School Corporation and President of the Indiana Alliance of Black School Educators (INABSE), as one of Indiana’s Black superintendents leading with vision, courage, and commitment to students and community.

Representation in leadership matters — and Dr. Stokes continues to demonstrate what it looks like to serve with excellence, purpose, and heart. Her leadership is helping shape brighter futures for students in Gary and across Indiana while strengthening the network of Black educators through INABSE.

Let’s continue to honor and uplift Black educational leaders who are paving the way for the next generation.
