Being local to Toledo means a lot.
Getting the chance to be a vendor at our local skate park jam hits different.

This was only our second time ever setting up a booth — and man, there was a lot of prep that went into it.
Hours in the shop, late nights, time away from the family… all to make it happen.

It was a bike event, but I still had to pull up to remind everyone —

From a piece of scrap ➝ to my first metal fingerboard ➝ to Frogtown Skate Co.

Crazy what curiosity can build. 🛠️

This was my first attempt at making a metal fingerboard — crafted nearly 5 years ago from a piece of scrap sheet metal. I shaped it to fit trucks and a precut 30mm sheet of Grizzly grip.

At the time, I had just graduated college and was working at a medical manufacturing facility. One day, I came across an extra strip of metal — long and narrow, just like the toy skateboards I grew up playing with. Curiosity kicked in, and I decided to see if I could turn it into a mini skateboard. Using my spare time and the equipment I had access to, I brought that idea to life.

Fast forward to today — here we are. I never set out to build a company. I just did it out of curiosity and passion.

Maybe that’s why I still do it.
