Got to meet some absolute heroes at . My brain and heart are both VERY full. No more learning for at least 24 hours.😂

I’m at and having the best time in New Orleans. Just listened to a session on building comprehension through cross-language connections. She talked through the PLUSS framework and reminded us that all children are Language experts! Next up is Pamela Snow on oral language.

I got to present two sessions last week at and it was a blast! I am so lucky and blessed to get to do what I love.❤️

I DID IT! 😎After two courses, a practicum, and a big scary test, I finally am certified as a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist through the Center for Effective Reading Instruction and the International Dyslexia Association. I’m so proud!💪🏼🥳 So. What’s next?

Thanks to Madison for shouting out my blending deck. I’m just a teeny tiny small business, and this support means EVERYTHING. Little by little, we can bring Structured Literacy to more and more kids. Thank you!!😭❤️

My first ever order of Small Group Structured Literacy Kits are on their way. There are about to be 500 happy teachers in Kentucky! This is just one of 4 pallets heading out this morning via courier.

3 super cliche lessons I learned along the way:
1. Talking about giving up is ok as long as you don’t actually give up.😎There have definitely been times during this that I wondered why I agreed to do it🤪 but I pushed through!💪🏼
2. Don’t do it all yourself!😵‍💫This was harder for me to learn than it should have been😑but when I wanted to hide under a rock🪨or needed help carrying a bunch of heavy stuff📦 I have been so lucky to have family and friends to help along the way.🥰
3. Mistakes are part of the process.🙃I heard somebody say it’s ok to make a mistake today, just make a different one tomorrow. No toxic positivity here… Sometimes it really sucks! I have learned a few expensive lessons along the way.🤦🏻‍♀️💸 I’ll work on different mistakes tomorrow. 🤓

Now time to go do my day job.❤️

I am SO grateful to the good people at Zesco for allowing me to use their test kitchen. In three days of work, I dyed 1,000 pounds of rainbow rice! A THOUSAND POUNDS!!!

Without Zesco allowing me to use their test kitchen, there is no chance I could have gotten this done in my tiny oven at home.

Thank you, ZESCO.com✨

How’s your day? Me, I’m just bagging some rainbow rice on my kitchen floor with my super handy bird feed scoop, no big whoop.

Learn from my mistakes, friends. My son wrote “mom” for me! 🥺🥰 Pro Tip: Don’t let your kids write important things in invisible ink.😩

Happy Friday, everybody!
