That’s a wrap for Rocco’s short course state meet! Not only did he PR in every event, but he accomplished some serious goals:
💥1st place in the state for 50 free (21.88 seconds) with a time that broke the club record set in 2013 and earned a spot in the Sectional meet. AAAA time.
💥Broke the club record for 100 free set in 2004. That time (49.77 seconds) also got him another zone cut (that meet is in August where he’ll swim for Team Indiana)💥
💥4th place in the state in 100 breast (1:00.92), which is another sectional meet time. Also a AAAA time💥
💥Zone time and 6th place (no medal because he swam in consolation heat) in 200 breast (2:16.22). Zone time💥
💥6th place in the state 100 fly (55.12 seconds)(no medal, consolation heat). Zone time💥

What a fun weekend. He had so much fun with his teammates and the friends he has been making from all of the other club teams across the state. Re-watching the videos, you can see his friends from various teams making their way through the crowd to come congratulate him. This is what it’s all about 🏊‍♀️ Keep setting BIG goals & working hard to achieve them. The future is bright 😎

Middle school swim season ended on a very high note for these boys at the relay invitational! Broke a few meet records, got some medals, and had lots of fun while competing. Next up- Age Group State 🏊‍♀️

Finally getting around to sharing these. Rocco swam against his ‘rivals’ last week for middle school & it was such a fun meet! Now they’ll swim together at the state meet for their club team🖤💛

Crazy how emotional I get seeing Rocco in this orange cap. He’s ready for high school, but I’d like to pause time right where it is. A few more middle school meets left with his buds, then it’ll be time to prepare for high school swim🧡💙

I’d say he had a fantastic Valentine’s Day♥️ We are so thankful that this group of 5th graders adores Mikey just like his friends who moved on to Middle School this year. Inclusion💙

Not a bad weekend at the pool 🏊‍♂️ If you would’ve told me at the beginning of short course that he’d get state times for both the 100 & 200 fly this year, I wouldn’t have believed you. Today he got the time he wanted for the 100 fly so we’ll take it! 58.95🙌

The cherry on top for my birthday! He crushed finals tonight with this race & I’m so happy I was there to witness it!! This meet always brings tough competition & Rocco definitely learned some things about dealing with adversity 🙌

Have yourself a weekend Rocco👏🙌 PR’d in some events, achieved goals he set at the end of last short course season, and had a blast! I officiated so I didn’t capture any pictures, but seeing your face up close at the finish after the 200 fly was priceless!
