It has always been a dream of mine to build a Maypole. We put in a great amount of time and effort into making it a reality just as I envisioned! I am so glad we had many happy to skip around and take photos with our creation! 🎨
We hope to host more revelers soon! 🏰
Making History

Making History comes in many forms, and not always directly led by us. In addition to MH, I serve as the Outreach Coordinator for CANDLES Holocaust Museum and Education Center, I invite those to attend one of these significant performances of "Letters from Anne and Martin" held in both Terre Haute and Indianapolis.
These events (besides our Evening of Light fundraiser) are free and open to the public, including school groups and organizations. This is a wonderfully engaging opportunity to learn more about these two change makers of history. An art activity will also be provided in order to create your own thoughtful letters/drawings about a cause you are passionate about.
In addition to our Evening of Light, CANDLES Holocaust Museum and Education Center is hosting 4 free performances of "Letters from Anne and Martin" in Terre Haute and Indianapolis. We invite everyone to join us, and consider bringing students, organizations, family, and friends. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like a large group or school group to attend. We hope to see you at one of these significant performances.

How did Making History get started?
The owner and director, Amy Grove, has served as a professor of Art History for 11 years at numerous universities, while also creating exhibit concepts, programming, and lecturing around the world.
She has worked with The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, Newfields, Candles Holocaust Museum and Education Center, Girls Inc., Sycamore Services, Columbus Museum of Art, Osher Lifelong Learing Institute, Association Into Research for Crimes Against Art, Historic Royal Palaces, The Tower of London, Beckford’s Tower, Stowe House and Gardens, Monon Depot Museum, Indiana Historical Society, Girl Scouts of America, and for many other organizations.
Through the years, Amy has developed educational programming ranging from non-verbal infants to older adults and differently abled participants. She is passionate about sharing her education and experience in the field of art history through interactive experiences. She has led countless engaging programs for the public, non-profits, private events, and educational institutions.
At a young age, she stated that her career goal was to, “Stand around and talk about art to anyone who would listen”! Integrating art programming allows for her to share her passion while also inspiring hands-on learning.
Amy’s specializations lie heavily in: Holocaust Art Restitution, Art of WWII, Art Theft, Prehistory, Ancient Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, Ancient Mesoamerica, European Middle Ages, Italian and English Renaissance, Italian and Spanish Baroque, Rococo, Victorian/Edwardian, and Modern and Contemporary Performance art.

Making History had a wonderful time at Clayshire Castle Medieval Faire! This was our first time running a space at a Faire, and a long-time goal achieved!
We had so many apprentices join us in making masterpieces, firing the catapult, enjoying the poppet play area, and discussing history and art with us!
Keep in mind, MH is not exclusive to Medieval/Renaissance art history, but is all-encompassing for any period or historical topic! We’d love to bring programming to your organizations, events, libraries, museums, clubs, classrooms, nursing facilities, and anywhere you want to make history!
Thank you all for making this dream come true, we look forward to continuing making history! 🏰🎨
