👏 We are incredibly proud of our Lion, Mrs. Danielle Miller, for being named a recipient of the prestigious 2026 Yale Educator Award!

🏅The Yale Educator Recognition Program honors outstanding teachers and counselors from around the world who inspire their students to perform at high levels and achieve excellence. Yale’s incoming students nominate the high school educators who had a meaningful impact on their lives, and each nomination is individually reviewed by a committee of Yale admissions officers.

🚀 Mrs. Miller was selected from 307 nominees representing 39 states and 20 countries, with only 50 teachers and 17 counselors receiving this distinguished honor!

💙 Mrs. Miller is proof that the influence of an exceptional educator continues long after a student leaves the classroom and graduates from Lake Nona High School.

IUP Cejka Planetarium Offering Program About Life Cycle of Stars, to Host Observe the Moon Event

Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Cejka Planetarium in John J. and Char Kopchick Hall will host a program about the life cycle of stars on September 15 and will observe International Observe the Moon Night on September 19.

The 52 students selected for the 2026 Undergraduate Summer Opportunities for Applying Research (U-SOAR) will present their original research projects during the U-SOAR Research Symposium on August 19 from 10:00 a.m. to noon in Sutton Hall’s Blue Room.

AGES Students Named to Spring 2026 Dean’s List

The Anthropology, Geospatial and Earth Sciences Department congratulates our students for being named to the Dean’s List for spring 2026. Students receive this recognition for each semester in which they earn a GPA of 3.25 or higher while taking a minimum of 12 credits.

Several IUP students, faculty, and alumni attended the Society for American Archaeology Annual Conference last week in San Francisco, CA. Nine current faculty and students presented their research, and a team of graduate and undergraduate students competed in the Ethics Bowl.
