Educational methods include teaching, training, storytelling, discussion and directed research. Mathematics is the science that deals with the logic of shape, quantity and arrangement. Math is all around us, in everything we do. It is the building block for everything in our daily lives, including mobile devices, architecture (ancient and modern), art, money, engineering, and even sports.

April 7 is celebrated and observed as World Health Day. The day is celebrated annually in accordance with the World Health Organization’s aim to discuss health-related issues and to draw attention to specific health issues concerning people across the world. The first World Health Day was celebrated and observed in 1950, after 7 April was set aside as a designated date to celebrate the creation of the World Health Organization in 1948 in the First Health Assembly. The day thereby marks the anniversary of WHO after it was established in 1948.
The theme for this year’s World Health Day is “Our Planet, Our Health". Amid the ongoing pandemic and pollution growing on the planet, diseases like cancer, asthma, and heart diseases are increasing rapidly. World Health Organization aims to focus global attention on the urgent actions needed to “keep humans and the planet healthy.”

Shaheed Diwas, also known as Martyrs' Day, is celebrated on March 23 every year. It is observed to honour the sacrifices of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar, and Shivaram Rajguru, who lost their lives during India's struggle for independence from British rule.

National Science Day is celebrated annually on February 28 to commemorate the discovery of the 'Raman Effect'. Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman, an Indian physicist, announced the discovery of the 'Raman Effect' on February 28, 1928.

The Indian physicist was awarded the 1930 Nobel Prize in Physics "for his work on the scattering of light and for the discovery of the effect named after him."
The basic objective of National Science Day is to spread the message of the importance of science and its application among people. Every year, National Science Day is celebrated as one of the main science festivals in India in order to achieve a number of goals.

It’s known that India gained its independence back from Britishers in 1947 but this did not come as easy. Many people gave their lives in order to get this freedom back. In order to pay homage to these heroes, India celebrates Shaheed Diwas. It can be noted that this day is celebrated on many days in India- especially on March 23 and another on January 30 (which is Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary). Each year on this day, people talk about the heroic tales of such young fighters who fought with bravery and valour and the tales are being passed among generations.

This day is celebrated on 15 January every year in India, in recognition of Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa's taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Fransis Bucher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of India, on 15 January 1949.

Rakesh Sharma was an Indian military pilot and cosmonaut. He was the first Indian citizen in space. He took part in a Soviet space mission in April 1984.

Sharma was born on January 13, 1949, in Patiala, India. At the age of 15 he qualified for the Indian National Defence Academy. He became a pilot in the Indian Air Force in 1970. He flew 21 combat missions during the India-Pakistan conflict of 1971. In 1982 Sharma was selected to be a cosmonaut for a joint Soviet-Indian spaceflight.

Sharma and two Soviet cosmonauts were launched into space on April 3, 1984. They flew to the Salyut 7 space station. During this mission, Sharma performed scientific experiments designed by Indian scientists. The spacecraft landed back on Earth on April 11.

Upon his return from space, Sharma was awarded a Hero of the Soviet Union by the Soviet government. He was also awarded the Ashoka Chakra, the highest Indian military award given during peacetime.

Sharma retired from the air force as a wing commander. He then became a test pilot for an aeronautics firm from 1987 to 2001. He also served as chairman of the board for an Indian company.

National Youth Day, also known as Vivekananda Jayanti, is celebrated on 12 January, being the birthday of Swami Vivekananda.

As we observe National Youth day on Swami Vivekananda’s 159th birth anniversary, let’s remember him and his teachings that changed our lives for good:

Swami Vivekananda was born Narendranath Datta on January 12, 1863, in Kolkata, West Bengal. He was always inclined towards spirituality. He practised meditation from a very early age and also joined the Brahmo Samaj movement for a certain period. One of the greatest patriots, he was also credited for introducing Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the western world.
A true Karma Yogi, he had full faith in the youth of this country. He had a very strong belief that youth can transform the fate of India through their hard work, dedication and spiritual power.
