Here’s a fun bit of Deaf history to celebrate Deaf Awareness Month! 🤟💙🩵💛

Did you know the Deaf People’s Flag is a relatively new symbol of global Deaf pride? 🌎 Designed by Deaf French artist Arnaud Balard, it was officially launched by the World Federation of the Deaf in 2023.

The flag’s turquoise, yellow, and dark blue colors celebrate Deaf people, sign languages, Deaf communities, and the shared identity and values that connect Deaf people around the world. Even the design has meaning, with its bold lines extending outward to represent a vibrant global community without borders.

A little Deaf history, a lot of Deaf pride! 💙🤟 Happy Deaf Awareness Month from DHCC!

One of the best ways to help with spelling difficulties is to learn American Sign Language’s alphabet and practice spelling words daily. It helps with hard to remember rules and double letter training. I can help with teaching it all, I’m The ASL Tutor and for 30 min a week (6-weeks $75 total) I can walk your child thru everything they need to know and up their game when spelling. Im so excited to announce you can now purchase my sign language course by semesters. In Semesters 1-3 there are 15 lessons each is $75 making each lesson $5. These lessons include 20-30 vocabulary words.

Then if you are interested in obtaining foreign language credit with sign language you can contact me and we can discuss taking the quizzes and tests for a small additional fee.

Finger spelling vocabulary words daily will significantly alleviate any spelling difficulties your student may encounter. I can assist with that if you wish. I’m The ASL Tutor and I provide sign language instruction. I have helped students by working with their spelling words for 45 minutes a week. The students progressed from failing to comprehending and successfully completing their work with all A’s. I am available if you would like to try. 🤟
