Guess what today is? June 4th is International Corgi Day! Corgis are intelligent, stubborn (strong willed😉), hyper, persistent, mischievous, lazy at times and incredibly loyal. They bring joy and a lot of chaos to your household! I am so grateful to have Ziti as part of my family, I don’t remember family life without her. She is definitely the right amount of weird and fits right in! 😂

It’s a wrap for the 25-26 school year! The Art rooms are shut down for summer, but the creativity, friendships, and memories formed remain. These spaces become vessels, teaching art is truly sacred. We love getting to know you and seeing what you create. Can’t wait to see what next school brings! 😄🎨

AP Art History finished their AP exam this week and ended the week with two fun art history prompts. They participated in the Getty Museum Challenge, where they had to recreate a masterwork, using pets, props, family members, friends and of course, themselves! They also had a Meme the Masterwork competition, where they had to create an AP Art History meme about the AP Art History Exam!

Boylan Art Department enjoyed this beautiful day sketching God’s creation and our Blessed Mother with Art 1 and Art 2 classes! Students worked on their observational drawing skills together in an outdoor classroom environment.

Special thank you to Father Bobby Blood ‘11, our Dean of Catholic Identity/Spiritual Director for getting us off to a good start today by leading us in prayer in the chapel and talking about Mary, during Her special month of May. 🩷

We appreciate all of your time and dedication to our students. Good luck at your next assignment at Saint Margaret Mary Parish in Algonquin! We will miss you, and they are very lucky to have you. You will continue to grow your flock and make an impact! 🐑❤️

Today was the last day for the AP Drawing/Art 4 class of 2026! We are so proud of all of you, and look forward to seeing all of the amazing things you do to change the world! We can’t wait to see you recognized at the senior awards ceremony and graduation. 😉

The 2026 Kiwanis Club of Rockford Budding Artist Gala was tonight at the Radisson Conference Center and included dinner, a live art auction, and an evening full of celebrating our Rockford high school art students. Ashley Dunn ‘26, Trinity McKenzie ‘26 and Evelyn Rozanski ‘26 were selected to represent Boylan Art Department. All three senior AP Drawing students created an original work of art that was auctioned live, bringing in over $1,000 collectively! Thank you Ashley, Trinity and Evelyn for sharing your time and talent with the community, we are so proud of you! We appreciate all of the support from our Boylan parents, staff, and administration. ❤️🎨❤️

So proud of this AP Art History crew!! We made it through the global contextual curriculum approach to art history, which includes 250 required artworks from Prehistory- Postmodernism. We learned so much more than just formal analysis; we learned about culture, humanity, empathy, multiple perspectives, history, faith, and ultimately what makes us uniquely human,…. the innate desire and ability to create and be known! ❤️

We are moving into AP Art History exam review with practice essays, but took time to have a 250 party first.

Rockford Art Scene this weekend was a blast! Thank you .jimenez.art and for reaching out to the Boylan Art Department to join the Rockford Area Art Educators Show! The Art Teacher Faculty Show, titled Practice 3 was held at the Rockford United Labor Hall downtown Rockford. The exhibit included several Rockford area art educators displaying their personal work, bridging the gap between art educator and practicing artist. It was awesome to display artwork and network with other art educators finding the balance between work, artistic practice and family. Thank you and for creating connections and keeping art alive in Rockford!
We hope to participate next year! 😄🎨
