We want to give a HUGE shout out to Nicole, one of our reading coaches at Lakeside. Nicole has been working with Bruce for a few months now and recently Bruce came to a session sharing this book and sweet message with Nicole.

Bruce's mom states not only have scores improved, more importantly, Bruce's confidence is soaring! He loves his time with Nicole and enjoys picking up a book now when it used to be something he strongly disliked!

Join us for the Lakeside Literacy and Dyslexia Summer Reading Camp, running for 10 weeks from June 2nd to August 4th! 📚✨ This program supports all readers through structured literacy, fostering confidence and growth. Sessions will take place at local libraries in Barrington, Cary, and Wauconda, as well as online via Zoom.

Cost- $800 for 1x week for 10 weeks. (no classes week of July 4th) Your child will engage in personalized 1:1 learning, with a focus on building vital literacy skills. Don’t miss out—message us at [email protected] to secure a spot today!

We are looking for a certified or retired teacher who is available for after-school reading therapy sessions! Sessions can take place in-person or via zoom. The ideal candidate would have experience teaching reading and/or training in the science of reading or dyslexia. We think this position is the perfect way to enhance knowledge and build skills in the science of reading in a very laid back, hands-on setting. COME JOIN OUR TEAM! 📚

Here’s the scoop! 🍨Summer Reading Camp registration is now open! Lakeside Literacy and Dyslexia has two options for you!

🖍Incoming Kindergartener? Join us for our Kindergarten Readiness group. This small group setting will target letter recognition, letter sounds, phonological awareness, early handwriting, and classroom etiquette! Sessions run 1x a week for 9 weeks!

🖍Elementary or Middle School: Join us for 1:1 structured literacy instruction catered specifically to your child. This camp runs for 10 weeks 1x or 2x a week your choice!

🍎 Do you have a child heading into Kindergarten this fall? Our Kindergarten Readiness Camp could be an excellent opportunity for your child. 🍎

Who would be a good candidate? A parent who wants their child to walk into Kindergarten with confidence OR even better, a child who has a family history or reading challenges that accounts for 40-60% of reading disability diagnoses. Studies have shown that for children who are at risk for reading disabilities who received intervention as early as first grade made gains twice to that of children who did not receive intervention until 3rd grade. 📚
