Devin was a staple to our offense at Timpanogos. An incredibly talented and dangerous left-handed attack. I saw a ton of growth in Devin’s game throughout his high school career as he turned into our offense’s superstar. I can’t wait to see what he does at the next level after his 2 year mission!

🚨I help players grow their game no matter what level they are now. Schedule your next 1:1 training today at the link in bio!🚨

Never forget 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Throwback to last year when joined the annual stadium climb at Lavell Edwards Stadium at BYU to honor those who sacrificed their lives for others on September 11, 2001.

I am honored to be an American, and I am grateful to all those that sacrifice so much for our country every day.

WHAT IS THE KEY TO DEALING WITH INJURIES?

Injuries suck, and there’s nothing more mentally tolling in sports… but they’re apart of the game.

Reflecting on my college career alone, this is the list of injuries I sustained from playing lacrosse at BYU:
- Broken right thumb (skiers thumb)
- Partially torn adductor (groin)
- Scaphoid fracture (wrist - pictured in post)
- Grade two PCL tear (knee)
- Athletic Pubalgia (sports hernia)

This totaled approximately 16 months of recovery time over my college lacrosse career.

The majority of these injuries were things I couldn’t really control, which made it super tough at times.

But what was the key lesson I learned from all of this? PATIENCE 🔑

Patience with my body. Patience with others. And patience with myself.

Yeah, a lot easier said than done.

Injuries forced me to trust in the process and control what I could control. I had to listen to my doctors/trainers and follow their instructions. I had to take rest seriously. I had to stay positive even when I was feeling down about myself. Once I figured that out, I felt like I matured both on and off the field, and it made me appreciate each little moment!

So, if you’re dealing with injuries or facing ones in the future, you’re not alone! Be patience. Take it one day at a time. All will work out in the end 🙌

With starting fall ball this morning, I wanted to wish the best of luck to those trying out as I watch from the outside looking in for the first time in four years.

BYU lacrosse has changed my life, and I can only hope that it has this same lasting impact on those entering the program as it did on me.

Battle each day for your brothers and program. Represent what the “Y” means both on and off the field to the best of your ability. Cherish the highs and lows. Appreciate the moment you have. This season is bound to be one to remember.

See you at the alumni games 🫡
