I recently completed this watercolor home portrait for a local realtor as a closing gift. It was my first time painting pups. I have painted cats before that were sitting looking out of the window. These little Frenchies sitting on the porch were teeny tiny to paint, so it’s more to give the viewer some idea of what you’re looking at than giving them lots of detail, which is nearly impossible as small as these were to paint, and to get the right perspective, as well. Scroll to see the process I went through to complete this painting and the original photo. There were separate reference photos of the dogs that I was given.

It’s been a good little while since I’ve posted anything and painting has been off the table these last few weeks, as I have been making dolls and I still have more to go. These have been for a granddaughter and for my best friend’s granddaughter, as well as a friend of my husband’s from work. I’ve enjoyed embroidering their monograms on the back and then making the dolls and making these pretty little dresses out of this Paris fabric that I picked up a few years ago, and then adding all of the frills and ribbons to make them extra “girly”. I would have loved one of these dolls when I was a little girl. I hope they enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them!!!🥰💞💞💞

So this started as a digital art sketch that I then photocopied onto stick and stitch stabilizer and embroidered onto my cardigan sweater. Scroll to see the original sketch and other close up photos.

I’ve put down my paintbrushes for just a bit and here lately, I have picked up my Apple Pencil and my iPad and have turned to Procreate, which is a digital art program, for those of you who don’t know. Some of the drawings I have been working on are renderings from my own original art and some are from my own children’s childhood art from year’s ago that I will be turning into embroidered art. Here is the first of many that I have planned to complete over the next several months, as the gears in my head are turning. My youngest daughter, Olivia, was so proud to wear this sweater that I thrifted recently, which she tried to swipe from me before I had even finished it!🤭💞💞💞

My stepdaughter’s sweet fur baby crossed the rainbow bridge🌈 recently, so to honor sweet Elsa, who was a Great Dane/Geat Pyrenees mix and the sweetest dog, ever🥰🥹, I painted this pet portrait for my stepdaughter to always remember her sweet furry friend.

It’s December 24th🎶… Here are some Christmas projects that I’ve worked on throughout the season that I haven’t had the time to share until now, some watercolor paintings, some acrylic, a sewing project for someone’s granddaughter as a Christmas gift, and an old salt shaker that is a ceramic car that I’ve had for years and I’ve always wanted to turn it into a tree ornament, so this year I finally took the time to paint all of the detail on it, add glitter, and wire so it can be hung on our Christmas tree. MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL & MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS!!🎄♥️🎄♥️🎄♥️🎄♥️🎄♥️🎄♥️🎄

A last minute commissioned art project for a Christmas Holiday Bridal shower being held in Atlanta. I had only a few days to come up with an idea, find some ball ornaments and then proceed to paint 27 of them, front and back, and then overnight them to Mississippi, who then turned around and got on a plane with them and flew to Atlanta, GA for a Bridal shower, “A Merry Little Bridal Shower” was the theme, so cute!!♥️🎄🥰 I was up until 2:30 a.m. one evening, but I got them finished!😅

Some small watercolor cards and bookmarks I’ve painted this season. I painted several of the trees and I created graphic art for the inside to go with Cherry Bounce that my husband and I made back in July to give as gifts this Christmas season to friends and family. I then hand painted the outside of each card with a Christmas tree so they are all a little different.

This sparkly Christmas bookmark was difficult to photograph so I took several photos and tried videos too and posted several to try and capture the shimmery watercolor paint and sparkling glitter that I applied; it makes it so fun and festive!!💕 I’m getting in the Christmas spirit early this year, but I always have to be early when it comes to creating arts and crafts to gift to others.☺️
