Hard to miss this news from the weekend! Congratulations to Columbia High School on ending the nation's longest high school football losing streak with a win over Greensboro on Saturday! 🏆

Forty one unanswered points? Amazing. Kudos to these hard working student athletes and the coaching staff for persevering through one of the toughest challenges a team can face. Don't miss their next game this Friday against East Limestone! 🏈

🏈 STREAK SNAPPED: Columbia High School has ended the nation’s longest high school football losing streak with a 41-14 win over Greensboro.

After starting the game trailing 14-0, the Eagles scored 41 unanswered points to kick off the season with a win. Under the leadership of second-year head coach Sammie Coates, the victory snapped a 101 game losing streak and marked Columbia's first win since October 16, 2015 on the road at Ardmore.

Grit, heart, and belief carried these student athletes and coaches, and tonight they rewrote the story. Tonight, the Eagles rise!

The Auburn University Applied Research Institute (AUARI) opened a new 50,000 square-foot laboratory in CRP yesterday and welcomed dignitaries from the local and state level to share in the celebration.

This facility will significantly expand the university's ability to support U.S. government and industry partners tackling complex national security and space exploration challenges. It will house the nation's only university-led space electronics testing capability of its kind, along with advanced manufacturing, rapid prototypic and space development, and operations capabilities.

What a great week catching up with some of the DefenseTech Accelerator graduates! The Huntsville/Madison County Chamber was gracious enough to host a handful of these founders at their SMD booth to help engage and show off their products. We didn't get a photo of every company, but wanted to make sure we thanked each for taking the time to demonstrate what they do.

Special thanks to:

Making history is kind of what we do. Very proud to be hosting one of the largest paracycling championships in history! Be part of the action by volunteering or spectating September 4-7.

Exciting news! With 49 countries and 388 athletes coming to Huntsville very soon, our upcoming Paracycling Road World Championships are on track to be the largest paracycling championships in history! Please join us in Cummings Research Park Sept. 4-7.

We still need to fill about 150 volunteer shifts, especially for course marshals on Sun & Mon, Sept. 6-7. Those will be the road race days which can be very thrilling to watch!

Check the link in the comments for volunteer sign ups and more information about the races. We'd love to see you out there cheering on these elite athletes!
