The Loft Literacy Center

This summer, we're bringing the strategy and joy of mahjong to kids through our Mini Mahjong summer camp - designed with structured literacy principles in mind. Just like structured literacy, mahjong teaches kids to break complex systems into manageable parts - recognizing symbols, understanding patterns, and making meaningful connections. Through guided play, kids strengthen the same cognitive pathways used in reading and writing all well having fun building confidence and connect connecting with other others!

Join us for a fun evening of open play mahjong! Every donation will go directly toward providing literacy intervention for students in need in our community!

This is an open play event for players who know basic gameplay, instruction will not be provided.
