What a week! Three 3–0 victories, a standout week from junior captain Draven Damron, and competition stretching well beyond West Virginia.

🔥 Smash Wolves — 3–0 vs. North Central HS (Indiana)
🔥 Smash Solo — Draven Damron — 3–0 vs. Doddridge County
🔥 Overwatch — 3–0 vs. Mercer County Tech

This week alone, Timberwolves Esports competed against programs from Indiana, Kansas, Florida, Georgia, and West Virginia. Our Overwatch team also took part in the first national competition in program history, facing Goddard High School from Kansas.

That’s what scholastic esports is supposed to be: competition, teamwork, communication, problem solving, leadership, and learning how to handle both wins and setbacks.

We’re proud of the results—but we’re even more proud of the willingness of these students to step up and compete against whoever is on the other side of the match.

And we’re not slowing down. 🚀

Rocket League is forming a team, and we’re continuing to build our Mario Kart and Rainbow 6 Siege rosters.

That's a wrap!

Our Overwatch team closed out the night with a 3-0 sweep over Mercer County Tech from Bluefield, WV!

Calvin Fields (Captain), Hunter Kearns, Daymien Brewer, Josh Becklehimer, and Draven Damron put together a great performance and brought home another win for the Wolves.

🐺🎮 VICTORY FOR THE SMASH WOLVES!

A great start tonight as Smash Wolves took down North Central High School from Farmerburg, Indiana, 3-0!

Junior captain Draven Damron, Ronin Cremeans, and Josh Beckleheimer came ready to compete and brought home the sweep.

Another out-of-state opponent. Another opportunity to compete, learn, and get better.

3-0. Great job, Wolves! 🐺🔥

Our Overwatch team jumped out to a 1-0 lead against Goddard High School from Goddard, Kansas, but ultimately fell 3-1.

This was a little different for us. This was the first time in program history that our Overwatch team has competed against national competition on the PlayVS platform. We’ve won a state championship in Overwatch before, but tonight was a chance to take that program to another level and see where we stack up outside of West Virginia.

We didn’t get the result we wanted, but we competed. We showed we can play with them, and now we know what we need to work on.

That’s what this season is about—finding better competition, learning from it, and getting better.

You don’t grow by doing easy things.
