I have not said much about the political climate because I am not one to promote more division or separation among the people. But I do have something I want to share. Yes, it appears that we have largely begun to repeat history. The United States is closely resembling that of 1930s Germany. But I want to highlight one MAJOR difference. YOU! We are not joining these factions that are turning against its own people. We are not idly standing by while people, human beings, who at this point could be any of us, are being dragged away from their homes or shot in the streets. We are standing up for each other. We are protesting in whatever way we can. THAT is revolutionary. THAT is important. We are all one people. It doesn’t matter what color we are, it doesn’t matter where we were born, it doesn’t matter what language we speak. We are all witnessing the squeeze that others have put on us just to survive. Why do you think everyone, including your own ancestors, came to this country? To have a better life. To do more than just survive. And now we are getting a taste of what that looks like. We all bleed the same. We are all human beings. We all have feelings and emotions and chose to be here. To have human experiences. We all deserve to live our best lives. How would you feel if ICE came to your door? If you spent too much time in the sun, now you’re a target. If you learned a second language in college to earn more money, now you’re a target. That’s where this is heading. It doesn’t matter who you are. Not to them. But we are all important. We need to stand together. All of us. And I am so very proud of all of you who recognize this.
