🤠🌎 No Toilet Paper, DID YOU KNOW? 🌎🤠

Here in Texas, we’re used to doing things our own way. Whether it’s barbecue, rodeos, Friday night football, or saying “y’all,” Texans know that different places have different traditions.

But here’s a fact that surprises many people:

Billions of people around the world do not primarily use toilet paper after using the restroom.

Yes, you read that right.

In many countries across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and even parts of Europe, the standard method after a No. 2 bathroom visit is washing with water rather than relying on toilet paper alone.

Walk into a restroom in countries such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Turkey, and several others, and you’ll often find a small hand-held water sprayer, bidet attachment, or wash hose installed right beside the toilet. In many places, this is as normal as having toilet paper is in Texas.

So why did this become the preferred method?

The tradition dates back hundreds and sometimes thousands of years. Long before modern plumbing and mass-produced toilet paper existed, people used water as their primary method of cleaning. Over generations, this practice became deeply connected to local customs, family habits, and religious traditions.

Many people in these countries believe water provides a more complete cleaning experience than dry paper alone. Their reasoning is simple:

“If you got mud on your hands, would you wipe it off with dry paper, or would you wash it with water?”

For them, the answer is obvious.

Another reason is climate and history. Many regions where these practices developed had easier access to water than to paper products. As modern bathrooms evolved, the habit remained because people saw no reason to switch.

What’s fascinating is that many people from these countries genuinely struggle when traveling abroad for the first time.

Imagine spending your entire life using water after every restroom visit and then suddenly taking a 14-hour international flight where your preferred method isn’t available. 🇦🇫💔 A Little Girl’s Dream Should Never Be Illegal

Close your eyes for a moment and imagine being a young girl with big dreams.

Maybe you want to become a doctor and save lives.
Maybe you dream of becoming a teacher, a lawyer, a scientist, or an entrepreneur.
Maybe you simply love going to school, seeing your friends, reading books, and learning about the world.

Now imagine waking up one day and being told that your future no longer belongs to you.

Imagine being told that you can no longer attend secondary school or university.

Imagine being told where you can go, what you can wear, where you can work, and how you are expected to live your life.

For millions of women and girls in Afghanistan, this is not a hypothetical situation. It is their daily reality.

According to the United Nations and numerous human rights organizations, Afghan women and girls continue to face severe restrictions on education, employment, movement, and participation in public life. Many girls have been prevented from continuing their education beyond elementary levels. Countless young women who spent years preparing for careers have seen their opportunities disappear almost overnight.

Human rights advocates have also expressed concern that when girls are denied education and economic opportunities, they become more vulnerable to child marriage, forced marriage, and lifelong dependency. When a girl loses access to school, she often loses much more than an education. She loses choices. She loses opportunities. She loses the ability to shape her own future.

Think about that for a moment.

A little girl who once carried books to school now sits at home wondering if she will ever return to a classroom.

A teenager who dreamed of becoming a doctor may never get the chance to attend medical school.

A mother who wants a brighter future for her daughter may feel powerless to provide it.

The heartbreaking reality is that millions of girls are growing up knowing what freedom looks like through television, phones, and the internet, yet being told they cannot fully participate in it.

🎬 Happy 89th Birthday, Morgan Freeman 🎂

Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of one of America’s most respected actors, Morgan Freeman.

Born on June 1, 1937, in Memphis, Tennessee, Freeman’s journey to Hollywood greatness began far from the bright lights of the movie industry. After graduating high school in 1955, he turned down a college drama scholarship and enlisted in the United States Air Force, following in the footsteps of his brothers.

His dream was to become a fighter pilot.

While waiting for pilot training, Freeman worked as an automatic tracking radar repairman, maintaining advanced radar systems used to track aircraft and missiles. After more than a year, he finally entered pilot training,but something unexpected happened.

Years later, he recalled sitting in the cockpit and realizing he was in love with the idea of flying, not the reality of it.

The breakdown lasted nearly 38 hours, creating a situation that could have caused miles of traffic congestion and significant delays for travelers.

To keep traffic moving, Japanese highway authorities made an unusual decision: they opened the toll gates and allowed vehicles to pass without stopping. Drivers were simply asked to voluntarily pay their tolls online later, once the system was restored.

Just trust.

🌎❄️ Lake Baikal: Siberia’s 25-Million-Year-Old Frozen Giant

From 250 miles above Earth aboard the International Space Station (ISS), astronauts flying over Siberia during winter often spot something unbelievable a massive glowing crescent-shaped formation surrounded by endless snow-covered mountains. At first glance, it almost looks like a giant crack in the planet itself.

But this is no ordinary landmark.

This is Lake Baikal the oldest, deepest, and one of the most mysterious freshwater lakes on Earth. And honestly… it looks like something from another planet.

During the brutal Siberian winter, temperatures around Lake Baikal can plunge below -20°F. When that happens, the entire lake freezes beneath nearly 6 feet of crystal-clear ice. But what makes this place truly fascinating are the enormous cracks that form across the frozen surface.

These aren’t tiny little cracks either.

🌵🇨🇱 BORDEN COUNTY, TEXAS — THE PLACE WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS EVERYBODY 🇨🇱🌵

Out in the wide-open plains of West Texas sits one of the most isolated and fascinating places in America tiny Borden County.

Population? Roughly 600 people.

That’s smaller than some apartment buildings in Houston… spread across nearly 900 square miles of rugged ranch land, mesquite trees, prairie grass, oil fields, and endless Texas sky.

The county seat, Gail, is the heart of it all. Blink while driving through and you might miss it but the stories hidden there are bigger than Texas itself.

This is the kind of place where:
• Everybody knows everybody.
• Kids grow up together from kindergarten to graduation.
• Friday night football can practically shut the county down.
• People still wave at every passing truck on dusty backroads.
• Your tab at the local store might stay open for years because trust still means something.

There are no traffic lights.
No chain restaurants.
No Walmart.
No grocery store.

Need groceries? Most locals drive 30 miles or more to another town.

And somehow… people there wouldn’t trade their lifestyle for anything.

Borden County is often called one of the most conservative counties in America, and it’s completely “dry,” meaning alcohol sales are prohibited throughout the entire county. That means no liquor stores, no bars, and not even beer sales inside county lines. Residents often have to drive into neighboring counties just to buy alcohol, which adds to the county’s old-school, isolated atmosphere. Some people love the quiet family-focused lifestyle, while others say the lack of nightlife and entertainment can make the area feel extremely isolated and, at times, a little dry in more ways than one.

Life there still revolves around ranching, farming, oil production, church communities, school events, and neighbors helping neighbors.

The local Coyote Store isn’t just a store it’s the county’s unofficial town square. It’s where ranchers drink coffee before sunrise, where locals exchange news faster than social media, and where school kids are famous for running tabs their parents settle later.

🏈 And then there’s football.

Because the population is so small, Borden County High School plays 6-man football instead of traditional 11-man football. But don’t let the smaller teams fool you the Borden County Coyotes are Texas legends in the sport, winning multiple state championships over the years.

In true small-town Texas fashion, there were times the courthouse reportedly closed early on game days so the entire community could travel together to support the team.

That’s not just football.
That’s family.

The county itself carries the name of one of Texas history’s strangest geniuses Gail Borden Jr., the inventor of condensed milk. But before becoming famous, he created bizarre inventions including:
• A sail-powered vehicle that could supposedly travel on both land and water.
• A strange “meat biscuit” survival food for soldiers.
• An early revolving dinner table similar to today’s Lazy Susan.

Some inventions failed spectacularly… but that pioneer spirit still defines the county today.

Borden County also witnessed an unusual chapter of Texas history called the “War of Ribbons” in the early 1900s a land dispute between ranchers and farmers. Instead of gunfights, rival groups wore different colored ribbons to show their side: blue for ranchers and red for farmers.

Even deeper in history, the hills around Gail were once tied to the final days of Chief Quanah Parker and the Comanche resistance before surrendering in 1875.
