The Education Avengers
A few years ago, Jose and I were simply trying to solve a problem presented to us by parents of our students that we could no longer ignore.
"What's going to happen to my child when I am no longer around?" What happens to students who are capable of learning, growing, working, contributing, and building meaningful lives, but who don't always fit neatly into the traditional educational system?
That question's answer became Hope For Tomorrow.
And recently, that journey took us all the way to New York City.
Jose and I had the incredible honor of attending the launch of The Education Avengers at Forbes, where our story and the work of Hope Ranch Learning Academy are featured in Chapter 5.
Seeing our names and our story in a book alongside other education leaders was surreal. But standing there, I kept thinking about the students who weren't in the room with us.
They are the reason any of this exists.
They are the young people who have taught us that different does not mean less capable. They are the students who needed someone to see what they could do instead of focusing on what they couldn't. They are the reason Hope grew from an idea into a school, and now into Hope For Tomorrow; a vocational program helping young adults build the skills they need for employment, independence, and life beyond the classroom.
Being included in The Education Avengers is an incredible honor.
But for Jose and I, it is also a reminder that this work is far from finished.
There are still families searching for options. There are still young adults who need employers willing to give them an opportunity. There are still communities that need stronger bridges between education and adulthood.
And there are still so many stories waiting to be written.

And to every student, parent, teacher, staff member, employer, supporter, and community partner who has been part of Hope:
