The late nights.
Constantly being needed.
Hearing “mommy” yelled a thousand times.
The endless laundry.
The bottles that never seem to stay clean.
The snacks that always run out.
Toys. Everywhere.

The little voices.
The smiles.
The laughter.
The personalities that are evolving.
The curiosity of the world around them.

Someday I will look back and wonder how I did it. How I managed to still get my doctorate while juggling the chaos. How I figured out the schedules for each little boy. How Troy and I found time for ourselves.

Until then, I’m going to soak in every moment of quiet and chaos. Of the tears and smiles. The learning and challenging. Because someday I’ll wish I was living these days again.

When we stop learning, we stop growing.
When we stop growing, we stop achieving.
When we stop achieving, we lose ourselves.

Find time to learn something new everyday - no matter how big or small that something may be.

Question the world around you, and challenge yourself to make it better than it was yesterday.

Late nights.
Hours of reading.
Constant research.
A lot of caffeine.
Frustration.
Excitement.
Persistence.
Motivation.

Hard work doesn’t mean impossible.

Reflection.

Something we all do, but how much is it actually benefiting us?

Are we truly thinking deep enough?

Are we actually helping ourselves?

Three steps - Reflect. Plan. Integrate. - to being successful with your reflection that will take you SO much further than simply sitting and dwelling on all the open tabs in your mind.

Message me or comment below to receive my free resource - reflection not only helps you, but the world around you.

Life lately has been nothing short of incredible. The smiles. The laughs. The chaos. I wouldn’t change it for anything.

Amongst all the chaos and running around is also a Type A mom who has to remind herself to just breathe.

These are the moments I know I will look back on and wish I had more of. Trying to be fully present is HARD when all I want to do is continue to reach the goals and expectations I have set for myself.

With time, I will get there.

Until then, you’ll find me running on caffeine with 56 different tabs open in my mind. 🤪

Professional development and leadership are two things that I have learned to loved. They weren’t something I even enjoyed talking about when I began college nine years ago.

But.

When I took the time to actually learn what leadership and professional development entail, I was hooked. Gaining a deeper understanding of how our brains are wired, can be re-wired, and how our actions exhibit so many leadership qualities has opened my eyes to so many possibilities.

I have become fully invested in helping educators find ways to invest in themselves - so they can further invest in the future of their communities through the little minds in their classroom.

Everyone has leadership qualities, BUT if we don’t take the time to invest in ourselves through professional development we will never see the potential of the positive change we can make.

My one year old is full of life and likes to test my patience any chance he can. Yet, somehow, he always ends the chaos with a smile on his face running to me to give me a hug.

As I cleaned out our fish tank with everything he managed to put in it, I was reminded of how often we fill our lives with things just to say that we are living a full and busy life.

But, sometimes those things don’t belong in our lives.

Perspective.
Something we all have.
Something that changes as life happens.

Our perspective of the world around us plays a huge part in who we are as people, and who we want to become later in life.

Make sure your perspective is one you’re proud of, and is helping you become a better version of yourself and the world around you.

Unless there’s a hurricane happening in South Dakota, we are bound to be spending time outside.

Is this ideal for me to get time in my office? Absolutely not.

But.

I refuse to look back in 15 years and regret not spending all these small moments with my boys.

So, we will continue to find time outside each day, and I will continue to put in the work when everyone is asleep.

How proud would you be if the little ones watching you copied your actions?

Would you want them to copy you again next week, too?
