Exciting news for this week! South Dakota Educators Rising is the student organization focused on growing South Dakota’s future educators—not just teachers, but also counselors, SLPs, OT/PT professionals, school psychologists, social workers, bus drivers, food service staff, educational assistants, special education professionals, and future administrators.

A generous donor has pledged a financial gift to the organization if we can secure 500 unique gifts that day—no matter the size of the contribution. On Tuesday, December 2nd, they have a challenge to reach 500 unique gifts. Any amount helps—even $10. You can give either online or via Venmo, and gifts made today will still count toward the December 2nd goal.

Hoven Educators Rising has Football Mania cards available! Cards are $20 each or 6 cards for $100. Cards can be purchased online at https://www.charitymania.com/give/AF18F-23 or purchased at the school with cash or check.

Each game card is based on NFL football with 18 prizes awarded each week & 2 grand prizes at the end of the season. Each game card has a 1 in 15.7 chance of winning. Top 15 cards with total points scored win each week ($20-$400) and bottom 3 cards with the lowest total points scored win each week ($20-$50).

Cards can be purchased anytime throughout the NFL regular season and are activated for all games going forward during the 2025-2026 regular season (games prior to purchase do not count).

We had numerous winning cards sold by Hoven Educators Rising last season! It is fun to follow along to see how your card does each week OR put it in a drawer and ignore it and you'll get contacted anytime you win!

We are extremely excited to announce that Zoey Zweber is the FIRST PLACE winner of the 2025 National Educators Rising K-3 Children’s Literature competition in the middle school division! (Yes, they did accidentally leave Jr. off of the Hoven Jr. High School on the screen). Awesome job representing Hoven & South Dakota, Zoey! We are so proud of you! 💜🩶🐾

Today is Day 1 of the National Educators Rising Conference. This afternoon Zoey competes in the K-3 Children’s Literature competition. For this competition she authored and illustrated an original book. She qualified for the national competition in this category by placing 1st at the South Dakota Educators Rising Conference and earning a gold rating with enough points scored to move on to nationals.

Zoey has put a significant amount of time and energy into writing and illustrating her book. She has also been practicing her presentation by reading it to each of the K-3 classes this past spring and doing a reading of it during one of the Bookmobile days this summer. Today is the culmination of all her hard work as she presents her book to a panel of national judges. On Sunday we will find out the results of the competitions. Good luck Zoey! We are so proud of you!

Zoey & Mrs. Hobert are currently enroute to Orlando, Florida for the National Educators Rising Conference where Zoey will compete in the National K-3 Children’s Literature competition!

March Madness is here, and it's time to take your basketball fandom to the next level with HoopsMania!

Each HoopsMania game card contains 8 random college basketball teams from this year's National College Basketball Tournament—with 2 teams from each region. Every card has seeds 1 through 8 printed on it, so everyone has an equal shot at winning!

🏀How to Play:

The points scored by your teams throughout the tournament will be added up. At the end of the tournament, your total points will put you in a position to potentially win prizes.

70 winning cards will be the ones with the highest total points by the end of the tournament 🏆 Plus, we’re rewarding the 5 cards with the lowest total points, so even if your teams don’t win, you still have a chance!

No picking teams or winners required! Once you have a game card you are automatically entered into the sweepstakes and do not need to do anything else to win.

HOOPS MANIA digital cards are $10 each AND if you buy 5 digital cards, you get a 6th digital card FREE automatically!! The Hoven Educators Rising chapter earns $7 for every $10 digital card sold.

As the tournament goes on the system will add up the TOTAL points for the teams. At the end of the tournament, the cards with the top points will be awarded:

This fundraiser will help Hoven's Ed. Rising National qualifier (Zoey) & chaperone (Mrs. Hobert) attend & compete in the National Ed. Rising competition in Orlando, FL in June. It will also help make activities and events possible for the entire Hoven Ed. Rising chapter in the months and years to come!
