Did you know that HSCF has awarded over 717 scholarships, totaling more than $3.38 MILLION dollars since 1999 via their Dan L Duncan scholarship program?
Meet 2025/26 scholarship recipient Abby Dwelle, a Graduate Research Assistant pursuing her M.S. in Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management at Texas A&M University.
Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Abby’s passion for the outdoors began exploring her grandfather’s Maryland farm and grew through hunting, hiking, and studying wildlife biology at Clemson University. Today, her research focuses on javelina populations in South Texas, using helicopter surveys and habitat modeling to better understand species distribution and interactions with invasive wild pigs.
Through our scholarship program, we’re proud to support students like Abby who are advancing wildlife conservation and shaping the future of wildlife research and management.
