DLD SCHOLARSHIP SPOTLIGHT: RESEARCHING THE FUTURE OF BOBWHITE CONSERVATION

Meet Amanda Montemayor, a Texas A&M University–Kingsville graduate researcher pursuing an M.S. in Range and Wildlife Management through the Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute.

Her current research entails: studying northern bobwhite survival following hunting-party interactions, with a focus on crippling loss and its role in game bird mortality.

Research like this helps connect hunting, wildlife management, and conservation, and gives future wildlife professionals the knowledge to make informed management decisions.

This is what investing in future conservation leaders looks like.
