Just a few more days to sign up! We would love your input!
If you’ve had cancer at any point in your adult life and were married or living with a partner while both of you were working at least part-time during your treatment, you and your partner are invited to participate in a research study by Baylor and Lipscomb Universities.
The study aims to explore the experiences of cancer patients and survivors at work and at home during their treatment journey. You’ll be asked to complete 2 online surveys, a few weeks apart, that ask about your experiences during that time and your current experiences as well - both at work and home. You can earn $40 total in the form of an e-gift card (e.g., Amazon or similar) if you participate fully as a couple.
We will also share an aggregated report of findings with all participants so you can benefit from the insights gained.
Full details and sign-ups can be found here: https://baylor.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_ahirdAAy9JtNot8
The study will launch on Jan 22, 2024, so please sign up by Jan 21 to be included.

Recently we published an article about negotiation and gender norms. We found big differences in job candidate experiences for those negotiating with more aggressive/assertive female hiring managers versus any other type of hiring manager (collaborative women, or assertive or collaborative men). Given these differences, we can think about ways to be more aware of our own implicit assumptions but also how we are perceived by others, and how to foster more effective relationships while also maximizing value for all sides.

Facing an Unexpected Negotiation Partner: the Impact of Hiring Manager Gender Role Violation on Job Candidates - Journal of Business and Psychology
We conducted three studies to explore how job candidates perceive and respond to hiring managers who commit gender role violations during salary negotiations, extending previous studies restricted to economic outcomes and backlash effects by focusing on a range of job candidate reactions.
