Dr. Supriya Sen, OTD, MS, OTR – Chair
For nearly four decades, Dr. Supriya Sen has blended her passions for clinical practice and teaching. Currently an Associate Clinical Professor at Texas Woman's University–Houston, she brings extensive experience in leadership, mentorship, advocacy, and workforce development, supporting the next generation of future leaders.
Dr. Anima Mupier Smith, OTR, OTD – Vice Chair
Dr. Anima Mupier Smith is a Doctor of Occupational Therapy and full-time faculty member at Houston City College–Coleman College for Health Sciences. With more than 19 years of clinical experience, she is passionate about mentorship, evidence-based practice, and preparing future healthcare professionals.
Nathan Atanu – Treasurer
Nathan Atanu is an experienced engineering and operations leader with expertise in energy infrastructure, compliance, and strategic planning. He supports the Institute through strong financial stewardship, operational excellence, and long-term organizational sustainability.
Vijaya Vishwanathan – Secretary
Vijaya Vishwanathan is a healthcare technology executive with more than 20 years of experience in product strategy, data analytics, and AI innovation. She is passionate about leveraging technology and strategic growth to support neurodiverse children and their families.
Lexi Dore – Community Advocate
Lexi Dore is a passionate advocate for individuals with neurodivergent and special needs. Inspired by her personal experiences as a sibling to 3 neurodivergent brothers and training in occupational therapy, she is committed to helping children and families build confidence, independence, and meaningful participation in daily life.
Judith Joseph, OTR, MA, FAOTA – Fundraising Chair
Judith Joseph brings more than 40 years of experience in healthcare, leadership, advocacy, and education. As Executive Director of the Texas Occupational Therapy Association, she is dedicated to advancing professional practice, workforce development, and future healthcare leaders.
Michelle Atanu, MOT, OTR – Founder & Executive Director
Michelle Atanu is a pediatric occupational therapist specializing in supporting young children with neurodiverse needs. She is the Founder and Executive Director of The Neurodiversity Children's Institute and is dedicated to creating innovative programs that empower children, families, professionals, and communities.
