She’s shared her story and wisdom on CNBC, Forbes, The Breakfast Club, and now, the Tech Fest virtual stage!

We’re glad to have community investing pioneer and serial entrepreneur with us at this year’s Tech Fest event.

Following her time at The Ohio State, Dawn moved to Miami where she founded the company Flat Out Heels after deciding women should have an on-the-spot option when their feet grew tired from wearing heels during a night out.

Trying to learn more about her customer base, Dawn searched for ways to make her company’s kiosks more data driven which led her to create the Omni, a newly patented machine that allows for vendors to build a profile around those who love their products.

While fundraising for her venture, Dawn wanted to make sure her community had a chance to invest in what was developing, so she decided to open up her investment rounds to numerous small-scale investors like you and I.

A true embodiment of what can happen when we become creators in the tech space as well as put our minds/funds together, Dawn is the perfect CEO to open up an event meant for all the future bosses of the world.

Augmented Reality (AR) is where two worlds meet: our reality and the one being projected by a gadget like say Google Glass. We’re bringing in long-time developer, Brandon Smith, to help introduce you to all things AR so you can do more than just enjoy it but actually start creating!

A Houston native, Brandon began writing code 15 years ago. Driven by a passion for classic games and the Role-Playing Game (RPG) genre, he would continue to improve his craft with personal projects while studying business at the University of Houston.

In 2015, Brandon founded the small indie company, DarkShot Studios. Their puzzle/platformer ROTii launched on Steam and Mobile in 2017. During this time, Brandon also took on the role of a key organizer of Houston’s International Game Developers Association Chapter – putting together developer meetups, workshops, and Game Jam.

Brandon now supports Revelation Interactive as a Business Developer as well as Project Manager. His passion for development is matched by his love of game communities, and sharing knowledge with colleagues new and veteran including yourself 😉

Come hear Brandon speak on all things AR Dec. 5th at our annual, family-friendly event Tech Fest. Registration link in bio!

Our final topic at this year’s Tech Fest is Augmented Reality, which combines our reality with another using technology. Imagine 4D experiences or Google Glass where you can still see what’s around you but some piece of technology interacts with your senses to make a scene come to life or make your actual life easier

WE CAN STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING. READ HOW BELOW 👇🏿👇🏿👇🏿

When doing their research, The Institute for Policy Studies and non-profit Prosperity Now found that while many things including decades of unequal educational & financial resources contribute to this, a large part of why the average Black American household has a rapidly declining net worth is because of the skills gaps that is forming RIGHT NOW.

Sectors based on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), basically the industries of the future, have already said that the majority of America is not qualified to work in the developing workforce. And minority populations are unfortunately facing an even bigger challenge because many of the schools in underserved areas are still catching up to teaching what is now outdated. HOWEVER, there is an advantage we have that many don’t. Organizations and companies like Tech Fest see the problem and are offering real hands-on training programs, workshops, and conferences in order to make up for what the public school system says they cannot afford to do yet.

We do this because we understand that YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO WAIT. The time to invest in yourself and your family is NOW 💯 Learn more at techfestlive.com 👨🏿‍💻 Our annual family-friendly festival is Dec. 5th. Registration Link In Bio 📲
