Say, y'all! 22 years ago, this cute little girl followed me all the way home from UH. She's been with me ever since!
Just joking! God couldn't have given me a better daughter!
It is an honor to be your mom. Mother's Day 2025! π Thank you for your thoughtfulness.

Whelp, Spring 2026 is a wrap! Hanging up my professor hat for a few months (maybe π) to focus more on my private practice & clients. ππΎββοΈ
Next up, graduations π & more salutations. π
My final assignment is always the Farewell Letter, where students get to be honest and share highs, lows & "no gos" (the things I should improve)!
Despite it all, It's an honor to live my dreams!

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of joining my sisters of & some amazing women at our Potting Pretty with Purpose Event.
Not only did we discuss the physical process of planting & growing actual plants, but the importance of planting & maintaining our spiritual seeds.
My personal reflection was of the fruits of Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) & not growing weary in well doing (Galatians 6:9)
What are you planting in this season?
Looking forward to seeing everyone at our Mental Health Awareness Symposium in May!

This Saturday was busyyyy, but always grateful for the opportunity to keep heartwork trending!
I joined Rising Oaks in helping youth and caregivers build the tools they need to grow emotionally healthy and resilient.
I led this month's session, which to led a meaningful conversation around social-emotional learning, helping our youth to be aware of self. We move beyond only naming emotions like βangry,β βsad,β or βhappyβ and begin identifying what they are truly feeling, while also learning healthy coping strategies they can carry into everyday life.
What made it especially powerful was hearing one parent share that she needed this too.
She expressed how often she is the one constantly pouring out for others, and how this session βwateredβ her today.
That is the heart of this work.
Rising Oaks is not only creating space for youth to heal, grow, and build emotional awareness, we are also creating space for caregivers to be seen, supported, and strengthened.
Because when we equip both the child and the caregiver, we help build healthier homes, stronger relationships, and brighter futures.
If you believe in breaking generational cycles and ensuring every child, regardless of a parentβs incarceration to have the opportunity to heal, grow, and thrive, we invite you to support the work of Rising Oaks.

Today was an awesome day to be surrounded by other champions of change as we discussed Trauma Informed Systems, shared/listened to personal stories of survival to safety.
Today's conference reminded us that we all have experienced trauma in some ways & to be mindful of how we care for others.
Recognizing signs of trauma, how it affects our brain, behavior, personal perceptions & social connections helps us continue to do the heartwork to grow better.
Shout out to & our Fort Bend TBRI Collaborative for hosting & creating this space for us! π
