Houston Terrys showed up 💙

For our Terry Give Back Day service event, 50 volunteers including UH Terry Scholars, alumni, friends, and family came together to serve with purpose.

In partnership with Project Sunshine, we assembled 500 Puppet Pal Kits to bring creativity and comfort to children in hospitals.

We also created welcome videos for incoming scholars and wrote cards for graduating seniors, reinforcing what makes this community so special.

Moments like this reflect the strength of the Terry network and the legacy we continue to build together.

Welcoming the next generation of Terrys 💙

As part of Terry Give Back Day, Houston Terry Alumni and UH Terry Scholars came together to record a welcome message for incoming scholars and celebrate graduating seniors. It is a small but meaningful way we show what makes the Terry community special across backgrounds, campuses, and graduating years.

The Terry journey does not end at graduation. It grows through connection, mentorship, and showing up for one another at every stage.

There are many ways to stay involved:
• attend alumni events and stay connected locally
• volunteer as a chapter officer or support service initiatives
• mentor scholars and participate in career panels
• create an account on Terry Connect to engage with the network
• support future scholars through the Terry Scholars Fund

A meaningful day of service with our Terry family 💙

On Saturday, March 21, Houston Terry Alumni came together alongside UH Terry Scholars, friends, and family for our Terry Give Back Day service event.

Together, 50 volunteers assembled 500 Puppet Pal Kits in support of Project Sunshine, providing young pediatric patients and their siblings with a creative and expressive outlet.

We also recorded welcome messages for incoming Terry Scholars and signed cards for graduating seniors, continuing the tradition of supporting one another across every stage of the Terry journey.

This was a powerful reminder of what our community can accomplish when we come together. Houston showed up and represented the Terry legacy well.

March 22 is Terry Give Back Day, a tradition rooted in Houston and inspired by the legacy of Nancy and Howard Terry.

In 2011, the City of Houston proclaimed March 22 as Nancy and Howard Terry Day, recognizing the Terrys’ philanthropy and their investment in future leaders.

Today, Terry Scholars and alumni continue that legacy through service, generosity, and community impact.

The Houston Terry Alumni Chapter is proud to keep that spirit alive through our upcoming service event in partnership with UH Terry Scholars and Project Sunshine.

Terry Give Back Day is more than a date. It is a reflection of the Terry legacy in action.

Its origin traces back to Houston, where March 22 was proclaimed Nancy and Howard Terry Day in 2011 in honor of Nancy and Howard Terry’s philanthropy and commitment to education.

As Terry alumni, we are proud to continue that legacy through service and connection.

This year, Houston Terry Alumni will host a service event alongside UH Terry Scholars and Project Sunshine as part of our local Terry Give Back Day celebration.

The story of Terry Give Back Day begins in Houston.

In 2011, the City of Houston officially proclaimed March 22 as Nancy and Howard Terry Day, honoring the Terrys for their philanthropy and belief in the power of education to shape future leaders.

That legacy continues every year through Terry Give Back Day, when Terry Scholars and alumni across the country give back through service and philanthropy.

Houston Terry Alumni is excited to be part of that tradition again this year through a service event with UH Terry Scholars and Project Sunshine.
