All schools and district offices are closed tomorrow to allow families to celebrate and attend the Astros victory parade. Classes will resume Tuesday, November 8.

Hello GVE Families! I hope your summer is going well and that you are all finding fun ways to stay cool in this heat.

For the 2022-2023 school year, GVE will be implementing full dress code requirements to ensure the safety and security of all students. Please view the 2022-2023 School Uniform Flier.

Tax Free Weekend is Friday, August 5 - 7 however you may want to begin your school shopping early to take advantage of other sales stores are having during the month of July. Thanks!

We have exciting, yet bittersweet news to share! Mrs. Warren and Ms. Winn are retiring after over 35 years dedicated to GVE. Join us in celebration of them next Wednesday, June 8 at 1:00 p.m. Spread the word, but keep it a secret. We don’t want to ruin the surprise!!

Good morning G.V.E. Families! Please see the announcement below in regard to Meet the Teacher this Friday, August 20th at 4:00pm. Meet the Teacher will be outside at the Spark Park behind the school. There are entry gates off Santa Fe Drive and Sims Drive. Masks are strongly encouraged. Please do not bring school supplies to be dropped off. We can’t wait to see you all!

Please see below for an opportunity to receive a one-time payment of $1,500 from Harris County.

Catholic Charities will administer the funds to help 20,000 families receive the payment. Households that are selected and approved will receive a one-time payment of $1,500 for emergency expenses, such as healthcare, rent or mortgage, utilities, food, internet, transportation, childcare, and other past due expenses. To ensure fairness, households will be selected randomly, and all funding will be distributed by late fall. Families can apply on their own without cooperation from a landlord, since the money can be used for any type of urgent expense.

Applications will be accepted through August 11 at www.HarrisCountyRelief.org or by calling 832-345-6289.

It's hump day! Are you looking for something new to do this weekend? Join the Garden Villas Community Association, as they host their 1st annual Pets and Pals at Garden Villas Park. Many different vendors will be on hand and we'll be there, too! Swing by, meet your neighbors, and say hello! We'll be sharing information about the upcoming school year and giving away free books.
