Parenting Tip of the Day: Delivering a heavy dose of genuine empathy BEFORE a consequence disarms the fight-or-flight mechanism, instilling self-reflection instead of anger towards the parent. And, as always, consistency is key! ~ Larissa Kannas, Love & Logic Instructor
Love and Logic wins again! I am continually reminded of how fortunate I was (and am) to find Love and Logic 10 years ago, and eventually become an instructor. Today's tip: Kids come to need the same number of warnings given to them. My kids do not receive warnings. Obeying the first time can literally save your child's life, like it has one of mine. My daughter was almost hit by a car, but obeyed immediately when I told her to stop. Giving warnings and not following through is dangerous. I am so thankful for practical parenting skills!!
I love this empowering statement!

Helping Parents & Teachers Raise Responsible Kids - Love and Logic Love and Logic provides help to parents, educators, teachers and facilitators. Techniques that help adults achieve respectful, healthy relationships with their children and more fun while raising responsible kids. Raising reposnsible kids for over 30 years!
Larissa first discovered Love and Logic in 2006 right after she had her second child, and right when she was looking for an alternative to the parenting she had been using. Love and Logic enabled Larissa to have more fun, be more relaxed, have more control, and more effectively teach her children to be respectful and responsible! She became passionate about learning all she could to continue improving her skills and received certificates of completion as a parent taking the classes eight times. Finally, Larissa realized she wanted to give others the opportunity to experience the same transformations as herself. So, she flew to Colorado where she was trained by Dr. Charles Fay, Jim Fay, and Dr. Foster Cline, and received her certificate to be an Independent Facilitator of Love and Logic. Coupled with her degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with a minor in Psychology, Larissa powerfully teaches parents, grandparents, teachers, daycare workers, and anyone working with children, the empowering and success-proven techniques of the Love and Logic program.
Larissa teaches the "Early Childhood Made Fun" curriculum for parents and the "9 Essential Skills for the Classroom" for educators.
